Fire Safety Order 2005
(Regulatory Reform Order)
The Fire Safety Order (2005) came into action on the 1st October 2006.
​This is the main law that governs fire safety in England and Wales.
It applies to almost all buildings, places, and structures, with the exception of individual private homes.
What Does The Fire Safety Order Do?

It requires the responsible person for a premises to assess the risk of fire and put in place fire safety precautions.

It requires the responsible person to make sure people can safely escape in the event of a fire.

It requires the responsible person to provide adequate fire safety training to employees.
